What Sets Me apart
What sets me apart from other individuals pursuing a career in architecture is an insatiable drive to always strive for excellence and never-ending learning. As my passion for architecture has grown, I have begun to treat architecture not merely as a discipline, but as a lifelong occupation for learning. Architecture is a field that demands constant reinvention, the ability to fail fast, and the ability to learn from an individual project’s profile. My commitment to learning extends far beyond the classroom, encompassing everything from emerging technologies like AI and unique communal design to the cultural and social forces that shape the built environment. I emphasize that if someone is not willing to learn, they are not willing to progress. Although I am not an expert in every realm of architecture, I am willing to look at things with a different perspective at every opportunity to improve my knowledge forever. I personally believe that change is the driving force in progression. As Astro Teller has said, “…if I told you you had to make a car run on a gallon of gas for 500 miles, you would know instantly and intuitively that that was impossible. Starting from where everyone else had done things. If it was possible at all, you’d have to start over. You would have to bring bravery and creativity and a complete rejection of conformity and sort of best practices.” (Astro Teller, No Small Endeavor with Lee C. Camp).
This philosophy of mine is not just aspirational—it’s actionable. I consistently pursue opportunities that expand my perspective, whether through collaborative design, critical research, or immersive exploration of existing structures that don’t conform to the usual norm. One of the firms that I have been doing extensive research on is B.I.G.. Their approach to design and client/environmental profiling is extraordinary and a prowess that I hope to possess someday. What distinguishes me is not simply a dedication to hard work, but a refusal to become complacent; I am willing to set aside my assumptions and pride to improve consistently. Ultimately, my vision is to establish a design practice that is as fearless as it is thoughtful—one that leaves a lasting imprint not just on skylines, but on the culture and consciousness of the people who experience it.
